A few names to know
Jeogori
The upper garment or jacket. Its collar and front fastening help define the hanbok silhouette.
Chima & baji
Chima is the skirt; baji are the trousers. They are worn with a jeogori to form a complete outfit.
Durumagi
An outer coat worn over the outfit. Ask your fitter which layers suit the weather and the style you choose.

Explore the jacket-and-skirt or jacket-and-trousers silhouette. Ask about the garment’s construction and how its ribbons and layers are worn.
Modern hanbok
Contemporary designers reinterpret hanbok for everyday wear and for fashion shows. The photograph shows ceremonial designs on a runway. If you plan to visit a palace, check that your chosen outfit meets its admission requirements.
Accessories & finishing
Ask the shop which hair accessories, bags or other pieces suit your outfit, and which are included in the rental. Choose a complete look that you can walk in comfortably.

Pair a hanbok fitting with a palace visit. Confirm the palace’s opening arrangements before choosing your rental time.

Plan a hanbok experience around another of Seoul’s royal palaces. Check the entry arrangements for each area and programme you want to visit.
JEONJU
Jeonju Hanok Village
Combine a hanbok experience with a walk through the village’s traditional streets. Leave time for local food, craft shops and a relaxed return to your rental shop.

YOUR FIRST FITTING
Before you rent
A few questions help you choose a comfortable outfit and leave enough time to enjoy it.
Convert a quote from Korean won ↗Confirm the complete price
Ask about the rental duration, included accessories and styling, any deposit, late returns and damage charges.
Check the fit
Ask about available sizes. Walk, sit and use a step during the fitting; choose comfortable shoes and keep the hem clear of the ground.
Ask for help with the layers
Let the fitter demonstrate the fastenings and ribbons. Ask how to manage the outfit when walking or using the bathroom.
Plan the return
Note the shop location and return time. Check the weather, protect the fabric from food and rain, and keep paths clear when taking photographs.
VISITING A ROYAL PALACE
Check the hanbok admission rules
Qualifying hanbok can be eligible for free admission under the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center’s guidelines. Traditional and modernized styles are covered, but the outfit must include a jeogori and a skirt or trousers that meet the stated requirements.
An overcoat on its own, or a hanbok piece combined with ordinary jeans or a T-shirt, does not qualify. Check the official illustrated guidance and the arrangements for your chosen palace, tour or event before you rent.

안에 입는 옷을 갖춘 상태에서 직원에게 치마의 위치와 여밈을 확인받으세요. 대여 한복은 끈·지퍼 등 구조가 다를 수 있어 모든 한복에 같은 여밈 방법을 적용할 수는 없습니다.
03 · 저고리 입고 고름 정리하기
저고리는 윗옷이며 고름은 앞을 여며 고정하는 끈입니다. 깃과 고름을 정리하는 데 도움을 받고, 궁궐 방문 중에도 저고리를 단정하게 갖춰 입으세요.
04 · 걸음·소품·반납 시간 확인하기
몇 걸음 걸으며 치마 길이와 신발, 방문 동선의 계단을 확인하세요. 반납 시간·보관·훼손 및 연장 비용·소품 추가 요금도 확인합니다. 궁궐별 한복 관람 규정을 확인하고, 일부만 입어도 자동으로 무료관람 대상이 되는 것은 아닙니다.
